Arrive
Online, at different times through the week, so every time zone gets a seat. In person too, starting in South Florida.
is optional.
A new community for women building something of their own: a business, a career, an idea that isn’t finished yet. Small, honest conversations, online and in person. No pitching, no pressure.
The one who wrote the post
On November 2nd I asked on Threads whether other women building businesses wanted to meet online and just talk. I was building my own business and realized I didn’t have many friends who understood what that’s like.
I expected a handful of replies. More than 150 arrived within a day, from across the US and beyond, and they haven’t stopped. Many came from right here in South Florida, where I live.
Social media lets us know about each other. I want us to actually know each other. That’s what Elkara is for.

One post
Founders, freelancers, creatives, women starting over. That’s when this stopped being a post and started becoming a place.
The first gathering is open and unstructured: we meet, talk, and decide together what comes next. Here’s the shape we’re building toward.
01
Online, at different times through the week, so every time zone gets a seat. In person too, starting in South Florida.
02
A few women share what they’re building, ten minutes each, then get five minutes of honest feedback from the room.
03
An email before each conversation: the topic, who’s sharing, and a seat if you want one.
No dates are set yet. Online gatherings are open to women anywhere; in-person meetups are being explored, starting in South Florida. Everyone on the early list hears first.
The founder, fifteen years in.
The one with an idea she hasn’t said out loud.
The freelancer, the creative, the one starting over.
Anyone who’d rather build with company.

Add your name to the early list and I’ll email you when the first conversations are ready. This is an interest list, not a seat reservation.
Wherever you are, there’s a seat online. If you’re in South Florida, tell me in the form and you’ll hear about local meetups first.
